I did two 18"x24" portraits of people for my summer art studio course... guess who!

The answers are... Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen (Emilia Clarke as Dany on the Game of Thrones TV series) and Gemma Ward! These are the pictures I referenced:

I had such a great time drawing these two. Dany was my first portrait with charcoal, and Gemma my first with ink. I absolutely love the sumi ink medium, it was so fun! I found Dany's hair really hard to do, and after I finished I noticed that her mouth was too big (drawn too far out on the left side) and the shadows near the eyebrows aren't as angled. I also should have gone in with darker tones. For Gemma, I painted her forehead is a little too big and I added too much ink while trying to correct her nose. Also, her freckles aren't there and her eyes are not the beautiful blue seen in the photo! :(
Each portrait took around 4-8 hours from start to finish. Perhaps I will re-do their portraits sometime in the future when I improve a bit more! :)
